Depth Of Field Magazine presents “Hip-Hop And Comics: Cultures Combining” and “Comics of The Fab Four: The Fifth Beatle and beyond” panels at HeroesCon 2013.

Creators and historians discuss Pop Music and Hip-Hop’s intersections with comic book culture at Charlotte NC’s famed media expo.

Following up acclaimed presentations at New York Comic Con, WonderCon Anaheim, C2E2, and a number of other pop culture expos around the country, Depth Of Field Magazine is proud to present two panel discussions at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, as part of the 31st annual Heroes Convention.

Hip-Hop And Comics: Cultures Combining will take place Saturday June 8th, at 11am, in R2oom 207AB.  This hour-long program will feature musical and visual artists shedding light on the common influences of comics and Hip-Hop, dissecting their common iconography, and discussing current and upcoming projects.  Patrick Reed (editor of Depth Of Field Magazine) will moderate, and panelists include Ed Piskor (artist/writer, ‘The Hip-Hop Family Tree’), Matthew Rosenberg (author/co-creator, Ghostface Killah’s ’12 Reasons To Die’ comic), Sanford Greene (creator, ‘Rotten Apple’), and other special guests.

Comics of The Fab Four: The Fifth Beatle and beyond will take place Sunday June 9th, at 11:30am, in Room 203B.  This program will feature Vivek J. Tiwary and Andrew Robinson discussing their upcoming The Fifth Beatle graphic novel, the history of the Beatles in comics, and the lasting impact of the British Invasion on comics and other forms of pop culture.  Depth Of Field editor Patrick Reed will moderate the one-hour conversation.
