Depth Of Field Magazine proudly presents “Hip-Hop And Comics: Cultures Combining” at San Diego Comic-Con 2019!

Visual artists and musical icons take the stage for an in-depth discussion of the ties between these two creative cultures.

On Friday, July 19th at 7:00pm, Depth Of Field’s Hip-Hop And Comics: Cultures Combining program will celebrate its seventh straight year as part of San Diego Comic-Con’s programming. Building off our previous panels on this topic, this presentation will address the long-standing links between comics and Hip-Hop, how both forms grew from humble origins to worldwide recognition, their innate political and social impact, and how both cultures have incorporated and intersected with other aspects of popular media, including cartoons, sci-fi, anime, graffiti/street art, dance, and other related expressive disciplines.

Patrick A. Reed (of Depth Of Field) will moderate, and panelists include:

  • Chali 2na
  • Mark Bodé
  • Murs
  • Kenny Keil
  • Diana ‘Deity’ Sandoval
  • Gloria “Glow” Muriel
  • Ted Lange IV
  • James Reitano

As well as a number of special surprise guests!

The panel runs one hour, and will take place in Room 29AB of the San Diego Convention Center. San Diego Comic-Con takes place from July 17-21. For updates or inquires on the Hip-Hop And Comics programming, please check www.depthoffieldmagazine.com or @DJPatrickAReed/@depthzine on Twitter.
